All of the designers chosen from across the world were picked for their curiosity in experimenting with materials, form and colour, with many operating on the border between industrial design and craft. Using the knitted textiles by Kvadrat Febrik as a canvas, designers have created works that complement their respective disciplines.
Adam Goodrum’s ‘In Conversation series’ is a seating collection, inspired by a set of Victorian love seats that allows for quiet discussion between sitters. Goodrum’s design proposes a group of interlocked seats that allow for quiet discussion between sitters. Different shades of Kvadrat Febrik’s Gentle 2 run into one another, creating a richly hued skin that is further enlivened by the three-dimensionality and texture of the knit.
Benja Harney’s ‘InterPersona’ is a playful and colourful landscape of abstracted characters with surrealist eyes and lips. ‘InterPersona’ makes full use of the range of colours and textures from Kvadrat Febrik’s textiles, using them as upholstery for a range of jigsaw-like cardboard shapes.
