Introducing a new fitness concept tailored to the needs of the busy Londoner, 1Rebel, the new luxury boutique brand of gyms, combines highly intense fitness sessions with live music, bespoke playlists, healthy food and a small luxury sportswear retail section. Situated on St. Mary Axe, the very first 1Rebel gym occupies an approximately 745-square-meter (8,000 sq. feet) former office area which has been stripped down and reconfigured into an urban, energetic space by the young London-based architecture practice Studio C102. ‘‘Our brief was to design a gym where each class felt like a night out,’’ Kyriakos Katsaros, founder of Studio C102, explains, ‘‘an event in its own right rather than a means to an end.’’
