With the imminent launch of Frieze London, the opening of a new exhibition on Dali and Duchamp, and our upcoming collaboration with The New Craftsmen, were dedicating this month to everything art, craft and architecture.

Read on for details on our exclusive promotion with Frieze, the launch of our new supper club and cultural highlights from Leeds and London.

1. Fifteen Years of Frieze
Between the 5-8 October the 15th edition of Frieze London hosts the Frieze Art Fair, Frieze Masters and the Frieze Sculpture Trail. A programme of talks and live performances will run alongside the exhibition of work by established and emerging artists. Highlights for 2017 include a new themed gallery section devoted to the legacy of radical feminist artists, organised by Alison M. Gingeras.

To celebrate the opening, The Modern House have partnered with Frieze to offer a pair of day tickets to the Frieze Art Fair and Frieze Masters. Well be announcing the winner on Wednesday 4 October. ‘Like our promotion on Facebook and subscribe here to enter.

2. Art meets Architecture
Join David Adjaye, Pablo Bronstein, David Chipperfield, Elizabeth Driller and Amanda Levete for a discussion of Art and Architecture on the 6 October. Frieze Academy present a timely conference examining the role of architecture in shaping the cultural landscape with leading architects, gallerists and artists.Book your place.

3. A Surreal Concept
On the 7 October the RA opens the first exhibition to throw light on the surprising relationship of conceptual artist Marcel Duchamp and renowned Surrealist Salvador Dali. The two artists maintained a lasting friendship with mutual admiration and influence on each others work throughout their careers. The exhibition runs until 3 January 2018.

4. The Modern Supper Club
The Modern House are launching a new supper club series to gather friends together in surprising spaces. For our inaugural event were partnering with The New Craftsmen for British sharing plates prepared by Anthropologists of Eating and wines from Journeys End. Over supper, a lively conversation between architect Simon Astridge and designer Gareth Neal will explore the deep links between craft and architecture.Keep in touch for highlights from the conversation and news about our future events.

5. Learn a New Craft
We recently discovered the contemporary ceramics classes at Sunken Studio in Leeds. The studio has seven taster workshops running throughout October with sessions exploring the many methods, processes and applications of the craft. Sign up to a class.

6. And the winner is…
On 31 October the RIBA Stirling Prize will be awarded to one of the six buildings shortlisted for their contribution to the evolution of architecture over the past year. Widely recognised as the UKs most prestigious architecture accolade, contenders include Juergen Tellers photography studio in the hinterland of the Westway, and Amin Tahas characterful Spruce Apartments which were sold by The Modern House earlier this year.
