Ai Associates were engaged by Orsted, a renewable energy company, to design their offices located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Orsted takes tangible action to create a world that runs entirely on green energy. The company is growing steadily with an expansion floor below their current KL Headquarter. Orsted understands the value of creating an agile workspace with the integration of a community hub that allows their employees to develop and vary their work setting from individual workspaces to collaborative workspaces. The idea is to create an immediate space that will represent a propeller’s rotary motion which conveys a circular motion with kinetic energy. This inspires the project’s conceptual direction whereby most of the fixture seems to extrude from the root of the design intention. The usage of multifunctional fixtures and integrated spaces can also be seen implemented in office space. Enclosed meeting rooms at the core of the building creates better opportunities to maximize sunlight harvesting for general working areas. Pocket of spaces can be manipulated with the Integration of different types of loose seatings for short and quick discussions.
