Remai Modern艺术博物馆的造型呼应了萨斯喀彻温平坦的草原地形，同时回应了当地传统的底层建築、直线型的棚屋以及农舍。四个悬臂式的水平体量在南面朝向河岸，东面则朝向第二大街。建築的南立面横跨了整个场地，首层空间完全由玻璃围合，带来连续而明亮的临河公共空间。博物馆的四面均有入口，从而能够与河岸的人行路线融为一体。

每层的公共空间都尽可能地与河流形成关联。中庭将平面布局统一起来，同时提供了集会和交流的空间。位于首层的宽阔楼梯为所有楼层带来了连续的路径。建築外部包覆着一层红褐色的金属网面，其灵感源于萨斯卡通历史悠久的地标建築：贝斯伯勒酒店（Bessborough Hotel，CNR, 1932）。
