During our recent visit to designer Małgorzata Banys house in north London, which she shares with artist Tycjan Knut, we were taken by the pairs artful adaptation of a warehouse building into a beautiful home with studio space. Feeling inspired, weve selected six beautiful homes for creatives from our current sales listings.

Orchard Flower Farm, Penzance, Cornwall
Nestled in the Cornish countryside, just a few miles inland from beautiful coastline, and surrounded by around two acres of mature gardens, Orchard Flower Farm is one for those inspired by nature. The citys influence is still felt, however: the separate studio was modelled on the late Hugh Stoneman’s former Islington print works.

Powis Mews, London W11
Any creative purchasing this sprawling former warehouse in Notting Hill will have big boots to fill, given that the building is the home and studio of renowned designer Ross Lovegrove. The property is replete with experimental details, displaying a sample of the owner’s early industrial and architectural oeuvre. The impressive studio is entered through glazed double doors from Powis Mews and occupies the ground and lower-ground floors.

Faversham, Kent
Installation artists, sculptors of large-scale works and elephant taxidermists will find a suitable workspace in this enormous space in the Kentish village of Faversham. The double-fronted Grade II-listed Georgian house has beside it, attached via a glazed atrium, a vast 20th-century gymnasium in largely original condition. The space is currently used as an art studio and storage area.

The Ballroom, Walcot Street, Bath
Photographers looking for a live/work setup need only move their equipment to this apartment in Bath, which was refurbished to comprise a studio and living space by the photographer-owner. Of particular interest is the curved wall with built-in Bose speakers, currently used for photographic shoots and as a background for projection.

Gibraltar Walk, London E2
This three bedroom house between Shoreditch and Bethnal Green incorporates original details from its industrial origins as a former furniture-restoration workshop, originally built in 1905. Exposed brick walls and stripped-wood flooring, with metal columns, cast-iron radiators and raw-timber beams make for a characterful backdrop to any creative process.

St John Street, London EC1
At over 2000 sq ft, this expansive apartment in the creative hotbed of Clerkenwell is well appointed to comprise studio or gallery space. Henley Halebrown Rorrison Architects overhauled the one-time warehouse using materials that reference the industrial heritage of the building, with birch-ply panelled floor and exposed concrete pillars. An inspiring sight indeed.
