Orator is a multipurpose object designed by young Russian designer Katia Tolstykh. Katia set out to combine multiple functions with this project. As a result, Orator is an ergonomic feeder, a bird’s nest, with it’s principal element being a “speaker”. The speaker’s function is to better disseminate the sounds of singing birds by way of a timber and copper birdhouse. “Natural sounds help to keep us in touch with nature in an urban environment”, explains the designer. This object formed part of ‘Naturalist’ – collective project of Russian product designers launched in 2015. Katia Tolstykh is based in Saint Petersburg in Russia. She holds a Master’s degree in Interior Design from Stiegletz St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry. Katia mainly works with furniture, product and space design. - 转载自:Yellowtrace
