New York-based, family-owned furniture brand Dmitriy & Co has released a new furniture collection, ‘New Romanticism’. Aligned with their decades-long track record of exceptional tailoring and handicraft, each piece represents a highly considered balance of function, form, and beauty. A material palette of cast bronze, silk velvet and curved timber applies to new sofas, lounge chairs, and a daybed. With domed oak feet and a curved back, the generous Decca sofa is intended for cocooned and cosy conversations. With refined modernist influence, the light wool and natural walnut Dahlem sofa features oversized arms and a streamlined silhouette. More youthful, the Rainer sofa is defined by a trestle arm motif and masculine curved edges. The Masson sofa and daybed encompass nods to both ancient Egyptian opulence and Art Deco subtleties, with hand cast bronze feet and a somewhat whimsical shape. The angular edges of the Masson daybed are simultaneously modern and classic. Both pictured in Holland & Sherry boucle wool, the Belgard and Magari lounge chairs are renditions of earlier sofa forms.
