Australian paint brand Porter’s has launched Smooth Impasto, a collection of 44 rich and textured colours with a velvety matte finish. As well as colour, the focus is on the application, characterised by a lack of uniformity with distinct layering and subtle but visual brush marks. The properties of the Smooth Impasto paint afford the range signature pigment intensity, a tactile softness and ultra-matte finish. The shades are crafted with a layered combination of Porter’s tints, the complexity of which allows the range to play and shift with changing light within a room. Porter’s colour expert Melanie Stevenson says that Australian’s confidence with colour is growing, and with it comes a drive to create spaces that reflect individuality and personal expression. From rich burnished red to deep nori green, the colours are bold yet adaptable to a spectrum of home interior styles. “Porter’s Smooth Impasto creates a sense of depth and gives walls a unique natural character, which enables styling to be pared back and creates a beautiful background for statement artwork, furniture or decorative accessories,” Stevenson says. Warm terracotta tones such as Dolce Vita hint at an Eastern influence and pair with natural materials such as warm timbers, stone and linens. Smoky, muted cool tones such as Vintage Blue denote laid back sophistication and drama, complementing minimalist furniture, particularly in black and metallic finishes. “Porter’s Smooth Impasto adds another dimension to colour as the undulation of the texture creates an appealing shadow effect – it elevates the look of your space,” says Stevenson. A coat of Porter’s Matt Wall Sealer makes the Smooth Impasto range wipeable and protects against general signs of wear and tear. The curated Colour Collection 16 is also available in existing Porter’s paint finishes such as their signature wall paint Eggshell Acrylic, or for high traffic areas, Low Sheen Acrylic.
