The Library in Ice-Chrysanthemum Field
The Library is situated in a vast ice-chrysanthemum plantation at the foot of Yuntai Mountain. The architect was invited to design a multifunctional building for community use. It accommodates ice-chrysanthemum tea tasting, book reading, small-scale musical performances, workshops for agricultural education, and storage for farming tools.
Architecture as a Village
To avoid the imposition of a single large building on the flower field landscape, the architect divided the functions into five dispersed small cubic volumes. These interconnected yet relatively private cubic volumes not only prevent interference between different functions but also offer unobstructed views of the landscape from various directions while hosting different types of activities.
The architecture, composed of distinct individual units, then resembles a miniature village. The exterior of each unit draws inspiration from the silhouette of local village houses, featuring sloping roofs as the traditional architectural ...
Casa V11
Casa AM
The casa AM project rethinks the volume of a former disused slaughterhouse, located within the compact fabric of the city, to modify the space for the construction of a single-family building that preserves its formal character by reinterpreting its material characteristics through a principle of abstraction.
The intervention interprets the conditions of the context, re-interpreting measurements, volumes, cavities and built spaces, defining itself as a connotative element that can communicate with the surrounding urban space.
The project works on the existing building like a palimpsest, selecting the elements of permanence and those of variation.
The architecture consists of two volumes on the ground floor separated by the common access courtyard, onto which the main volume is engrafted that recuperates the pre-existing building-bridge reconnected through a diaphragm and a terrace space to a second stereometric volume that reassembles the brick wall by reinterpreting its heights, alignm ...
Modal Home
The siting of the home at the front edge of the corner lot is somewhat counter-intuitive. Instead of shirking from the noise to the farther reaches of the site –de-facto creating a large front yard of limited value, the architects sidle the structure up to the street and turn its back to it. They carefully measured the decibel levels across the site to identify an acceptable noise level for the family of four. The designers then reverse engineered the design challenge by first asking what length, height and material for an acoustic wall would achieve the desired sound levels behind the barrier. The answer became the 14-foot-tall board formed concrete wall that both anchors the home on the site and is ever-present on the interior.
On a more conceptual level, to compensate for the loss of sound and view inherent in the architect’s strategy, they focused every element of the design to intensify the ephemeral nuances of natural light over the course of the day. To capture this, each space ...
Castelfalfi | Company Canteen

Casa Nido
In one of the first conversations with the clients they told us that they did not want “a white house that could be here or in any country”, “we want a house that shows that it is in Spain”, we quickly understood their love for color, unique materials and local crafts. That is why the common thread of the project is the selection of materials. With this premise, we decided to splash the house with strong colors.
We chose navy blue to tile the headboard of the master bedroom and the suite bathroom. For the second bathroom we used a softer aqua green tone that makes the space spacious and bright. And the cherry on top is in the living room, where we used burgundy tiling to create niches with shelves in the living area. In the kitchen, we covered the hood with the same tiling, we used oak wood from the Cubro furniture, with golden handles, a Rosso Lepanto marble countertop with a beautiful island of the same material, and hydraulic tile with a design that incorporates the 3 Colors: nav ...
NoMad London
The art programme for NoMad London celebrates the influence of postwar American art and European avant-garde, exploring the exchange of creative ideas between London and New York. Old world references are inspired both in the origins and rich history of Covent Garden as well in Victorian era artist references including Turner who was born in the neighbourhood. The hotel’s public spaces focus on an intimate point of view, as seen through the lens of a New York art collector, emphasizing stand-alone masterpieces, collections and series of works. The experience aims to evoke the feeling of walking through a collector’s home.

Casa RUBENS
Comprehensive rehabilitation of a single-storey house located at the foot of Monte Abantos, in San Lorenzo del Escorial. Conceived as a weekend home for a young couple from Madrid with two children, it takes the summer homes of Cadaqués from the 1950s as a reference. The premise was to create a warm and welcoming home, where in addition to recreating a subtle idea of what we understand as the Mediterranean, color was the other protagonist. Color as the guiding thread of a house that is designed to host friends and artistic presentations on a regular basis.
The intervention respects the housing envelope because it is, firstly, an area of special protection given its proximity to the Monastery of El Escorial, and on the other hand, due to the original composition of the 80cm-thick stone walls and the good cover condition. The interior, due to poor construction of the floors, and the dilapidated state of the pillars and the wooden structure, was completely emptied, allowing a complete red ...
CASA ALESAN
Casa Alesan is, along with the neighbouring “ Palau Macaya” by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, one of the most emblematic properties on Barcelona’s Sant Joan Boulevard. Commissioned by Dolors Alesan in 1902 to architect Enric Fatjó i Torras, the estate stands out for its decorative arts both on the façade and in the interiors. Stucco, stone sculpture, metalwork and stained glass form a façade of beautiful proportions and presence on the Boulevard. Inside, the entrance hall and the staircase stand out, with a large skylight on the roof that provides natural light to all spaces. The interior of the apartments preserves the hydraulic floors and most of the plaster decoration ceilings, as well as beautiful galleries both on the façade and on the interior of the block.
The project consists of the restoration, refurbishment and extension of the property with a new program of 16 apartments and two newly created two story flats to top off the building. In that regard, the biggest challenge of th ...
INVERLOCH HIDDEN HOUSE
A private and robust, yet comfortable new home that could also accommodate visiting children, grandchildren and friends.
A retired couple, who are keen gardeners, were seeking a private and robust, yet comfortable new coastal home for themselves that could also accommodate visiting children, grandchildren and friends when required. The design solution creates a separate accommodation wing for the guests which could be opened up or closed down to the main house as required. This guest wing is positioned across the front of the property to provide an additional privacy buffer for the couple, who live in the main part of the house at the rear.
The site is at the end of a court and in a relatively quiet area of the town. This location, and the unique qualities of the discrete site, are harnessed to provide a secluded and relatively modest street presence before the home opens to this surprisingly wider, higher and lighter rear. These rear internal spaces all have access to northern sun and ...

Khuong Nguyen/Kozy Studio Berlin
Stauraum in kleinen Wohnungen – so funktioniert’s

《STAR LEAF
