Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute Student Housing | 2023 | MO-OF
LIVING BRIDGES - Concept/Philosophy - Living Bridges is designed to move away from the typical dormitory or student hostel typology in urban settings, which fosters a regimented form of social control by the use of single-loaded corridor organizations. The challenge was to break away from the notion of stacked student housing where there is no exchange between students, owing to the tight site constraints forcing dead vertical development as a common imagination.
Program and Organization - To respond to these, a conscious design framework was introduced that facilitated opportunities for an active social and cultural life to flourish. This was done by creating Living bridges that integrate circulation and sequence different collective programs within the hostel in the horizontal voids. Placing common programs such as the study rooms, pantry, audio-visual room, gym, indoor games areas, and computer rooms on different floors adjacent to the stairs and overlooking the inner street formed ...

Ex-play-ment in a bamboo structure out of a child’s paradise to Experiment & Play
Sophia Michopoulou: Ex-play-ment is a bamboo structure out of a child’s paradise designed to Experiment and Play. It’s a magical territory where kids explore and discover, they ascent or descent, they enter and exit, they climb or slide down, they hide and seek where the real world fade and the imagination can take over…A large organic canopy that lies over the entire program to provide adequate shading from the intense sun and protection from the heavy rains creates a sheltered microcosm that adopts the kid’s scale. Bellow it lies a multi story journey with an open space at the ground floor and two slightly different floor levels above it that are connected in a common cluster of cocoon-like woven grid shell bamboo structure. From there little ones can admire a glimpse of the jungle nature around through the rounded openings that blur the boundary between internal and external space or cross the rounded doors and follow a path that can be either climbing from the front edge of the u ...

Interior Design of Forward Group Headquarter Office | 2023 | Studio 10
Located in the OCT Loft Creative Park in Shenzhen, this project transforms part of an industrial building into a dynamic office space for a company specializing in outdoor sports.
The company aims for the office space to embody the essence of a sports-related business while catering to the dynamic needs of a youthful team. Our initial research and interviews revealed that most employees, given the outdoor nature of the business, are more at ease working in open, unstructured environments like parks, finding traditional office settings somewhat alien. This preference results in a low utilization rate of fixed desks, while spaces for meetings, receptions, and casual discussions are in higher demand. Therefore, there is a need to create a versatile space that not only promotes the well-being and relaxation of the employees but also supports various operational modes, thus cultivating an environment conducive to ideation, creativity, communication, and interdepartmental collaboration. Ealing House (One) | Hodgkinson Design
Hodgkinson Design: This is a house that celebrates the original villa style brought up to date and juxtaposed by an extensive art and sculpture collection. A classic double-fronted and detached Victorian house, it is a family home that was extended to create an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space and first floor closet wing.Originally in poor condition, the interior was gutted to start afresh. A welcoming view now exists from the entrance door to the garden beyond, with tall, glazed doors that proportionally match the generous ceiling heights. We designed an art installation to span the hallway ceiling, forming a series of overlapping suspended glass and Perspex panels. The principal rooms can be closed into their individual functions as library, reception and art room, but equally can be opened for parties and family events. The levels are flush with one another, creating a natural flow between the spaces.

TR-395, Lomas de Zamora, Argentina | LMARQ Arquitectos & Estudio Lanati
LMARQ Arquitectos: Together with Estudio Lanati, we designed a residential building on a corner of Banfield Este, Province of Buenos Aires, facing the challenge of intervening in the densification process of the City in an area with a strong neighborhood imprint. As in all our projects, we prioritize the path of the sun, the possibility of having cross ventilation, functional spaces with good views to define the volumetry. This is how we define a tower free of its relationship with the party walls, with a large edge
perimeter that favors having the greatest possible relationship with the outside. A plate in which the bedrooms and the living-dining area are located towards the front with balconies that escape towards the urban environment and the sanitary premises, technical balconies and the circulation and services core towards the interior.

House Possidónio da Silva 37 | 2022 | Fragmentos
Originally composed of three floors and a yard, this building in Campo de Ourique was in an advanced state of degradation. The ground floor, which served as a commercial establishment, was reconverted into a common area and passageway for two completely independent single-family housing units.
On the main façade, the intervention sought to preserve the integrity of the existing architectural features, including the recovery of the iron arched doorways and original ceramic tiles. In the center, the two doors separated by an opening reveal a garage door, allowing the insertion of a functional element without impacting the historical configuration of the façade. Inside, the house develops over two floors. The social areas are located on the lower level with adjacent living and dining areas, the latter of which is separated from the kitchen by large glass doors which promote communication without sacrificing the ability to create distinct settings. The upper level is reserved for the mor ...
Fusco House
Fusco House is an apartment of 175 sq m indoor and 59 sq m outdoor on the fourth and fifth floor of an elegant residential complex in the northwest quadrant of Rome.
On the fourth floor are the main rooms overlooking the surrounding greenery: entrance hall, double living room, separable kitchen with full-height sliding glass doors, service area with laundry and guest bathroom, sleeping area consisting of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
The fifth floor, where there is a study and a bathroom, is accessed by climbing a staircase with steps partly covered in stone, partly in wood. Characteristic is the green-colored joinery of the under staircase, in continuity with that of the hallway, which contrasts the dark gray color of the lowering that leads from the entrance to the sleeping area.
Geometric lines, contrasting colors, and selected materials such as sandblasted parquet flooring in a cool gray tone and striped crema d'Orcia in the master bathroom make the space contemporary and minimal.

Parioli House
Parioli House is an apartment of about 150 square meters, the restyling and interior design intervention affected only some areas of the house, the entire living area, the kitchen, the master bedroom and one of the three bathrooms.
It was decided to keep the original spaces, expanding the opening already present between the living room and the dining area, the furniture was carefully selected in line with the custom-made intreventions made both on some of the furniture and on the wall decorations that affected the whole house.
The end result is very elegant, appearing contemporary while referring to some traditional elements such as plaster frames on the walls, antiqued mirrors, and small-plank parquet flooring with frames on the floor.

Bourg La Reine
[FR]

The Utrecht in Leeuwarden
The initiators of this project have a clear mission. In 2017, the national monument accidentally crossed the path of an enterprising Leeuwarden couple. From a personal interest in cultural history, art and architecture, the ambitious plan arose to take on the challenge of giving the monument a big push in the right direction.
By preserving and cherishing it and taking it to the next level with high-quality contemporary additions. Another century ahead! The goal was to open Utrecht to the public. An idealistic project, born from the desire to cherish and share this unique history. De Utrecht is located in the historic city centre of Leeuwarden, De Utrecht is 'in itself' a fairly closed and uninviting building.
It is not large and is both literally and figuratively overshadowed by the adjacent warehouse. By opening the doors and making the courtyard accessible, a piece of Leeuwarden has been brought back to life.
