Changfeng Mixed-use Development
Centring on the ‘LWP’ model, the practice’s design seeks to provide new high-quality spaces for ‘living, working and playing.’ The development brings together a rich mix of retail, offices, affordable housing, public facilities including an arts centre, and recreational areas.
Gerard Evenden, Head of Studio, Foster + Partners, said: “The project transforms an industrial area into a vibrant mixed-use neighbourhood in the heart of Shanghai. The human-scale development is designed to improve connectivity across the site, bringing people together and improving wellbeing through art, greenery and outstanding new public spaces.”
A central green axis runs directly through the development, from north to south, connecting its two main access nodes. Smaller secondary streets intercept with the central axis to create a highly permeable and accessible scheme. The streets are designed at human scale and buildings step back for natural ventilation, creating characterful and healthy spaces for ...查看全文 -
Athletes Village Lot E2B
A family resemblance
Sector E of the Athletes’ Village is first and foremost a family resemblance. As coordinator architect of the sector, CoBe has pre-written the main guidelines that govern the design of the various buildings while leaving some leeway to the individual designers. As such, the visuals of the CoBe project produced for the competition have served from the outset as reference images to represent the entire project in the sector. In order to ensure its total coherence, the family resemblance has been extended into the skeleton of the buildings, by means of a common construction method, based on a system of post-and-beams combining wood and low-carbon concrete. Programmed reversibility, exemplary carbon footprint, massive use of wood, universal accessibility, harmonization of colors between buildings, etc. The common construction system of the buildings becomes the glue of all these ingredients, allowing each architect to cook the recipe in his own way.

Superscale and Everydayness: Zhejiang Lishui Guyanhuaxiang Art Center
"In contrast to designing a pure and austere art center, I envision the Lishui Guyanhuaxiang Art Center as a vibrant and diverse space. During the day, visitors can explore exhibitions, while in the evening, they can stroll, gatherings, and square dances. The iconic suspended structure brings visibility, while the scattered small box-like structures on the ground exude a lively atmosphere. Art and everyday life nourish each other, merging into a symbiotic relationship, achieving a truly shared space for daily activities." — Meng Fanhao
The Zhejiang Lishui Guyanhuaxiang Art Center was designed by Meng Fanhao, Co-Founder and Chief Architect of line+ studio, leading an integrated team of architects, interior designers, and landscape architects. The project officially opened to the public on April 28, 2024. As the largest art complex in LiShui city, the Art Center is poised to become a pivotal hub for cultural exhibitions and activities, enriching the public cultural infrastructure of the ...查看全文 -

"Architecture is the masterly, correct and magnificent play of masses brought together in light. Our eyes are made to see forms in light; light and shade reveal these forms; cubes, cones, spheres, cylinders or pyramids are the great primary forms which light reveals to advantage; the image of these is distinct and tangible within us and without ambiguity. It is for that reason that these are beautiful forms, the most beautiful forms."

Araz House
Located in Kemerburgaz Istanbul, Araz House is designed by Pimodek Architecture in 2023. The design interventions aimed to comprehensively redesign the interior space of the detached residential in Pasifik Mansions, built in 2013, to create a contemporary living environment appropriate for today's conditions.
In the design process of the four-storey living space covering 500 square meters, the spatial organisation is initially shaped by considering the demands, habits, routines, and daily flow of a family of three, the homeowners. In this sense, the prior house which did not respond functionally and aesthetically to the homeowner’s daily flows due to its closed planned spaces, is completely demolished by preserving the facade and redesigned.
The ground floor envisioned as the heart of the house, holds the living room and kitchen. The linear planned living room consists of a sitting area, a dining area and a lounge area with a fireplace. The architectural shell added to the living space ...查看全文 -
Hudson Valley Residence II
The home was commissioned for a client with multiple residences who envisioned a retreat providing scenic views of the surrounding mountains, serenity, and a gathering place for family. The centerpiece of a 35-acre property, the elongated home runs from north to south on the highest point of the property, with views of the mountain range to the west.
Set among the rolling hills of primarily rural farmland, access to Hudson Valley Residence II winds its way up a hillside to a front entry court on top of a ridge. Expansive glass panelling immediately draws attention into the home, while simultaneously framing the mountainous horizon beyond. In contrast to the vertical ascent, and the massive verticality of the mountain range to the west, the home itself extends horizontally along the entirety of the ridge. Comprised of a series of utilitarian, simple form buildings with a repetitive vertical rhythm, the home’s elongated footprint is reminiscent of the long, low-lying characteristics of a ...查看全文 -

Varandas de Salgueiros
The building is located in the city of Porto, Portugal, in a residential area near the city center. The construction stands out for its contemporary forms, whose distinctive composition results from the morphology of the plot, allowing the exploration of solid and void forms that create divisions between balconies. To ensure harmony with the surroundings and balance its distinctive design, the materials and colors of the building were chosen for their simplicity and sobriety, with the aim of diverting the observer's attention to the formal dynamics created by its shape. At night, these forms are enhanced by carefully studied lighting that precisely reinforces the irregularities that characterize the facade.
Divided into six floors, this building consists of seventeen apartments ranging from T2 to T3, with west or east-west orientation, overlooking Rua Aval de Baixo or the backyard. These apartments are characterized by their spacious layouts designed for the long-term housing of small f ...查看全文 -
Ohana
As mental health issues continue to rapidly rise for kids and teens, with the US Surgeon General declaring it a mental health crisis, hospitals and clinics are overwhelmed, struggling to provide adequate care to youth. From a lack of residential care facilities and lower-than-average funding, these effects are particularly acute in Central California, which is experiencing a behavioral health “desert.” This includes 44 of California’s 58 counties—such as Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz—that have no child or adolescent psychiatric beds, according to the California Hospital Association.
In response to these critical needs, the Ohana campus seeks to transform this narrative through a new approach that intertwines care and environment as one. Rather than isolate patients from each other and the outdoors, it unites neuroscience research from Dr. John Medina to create a wholly new type of healthcare environment for Montage Health and the surrounding region. Closely integrated into t ...查看全文 -
Ciccio's Burger
Comic Cloud
This is a project that responds to the colorful character of Pop culture to which comics are linked. "Cloud" is an easy to assemble and disassemble space. This is an itinerant stand of the Valencia City Council at the Comic Convention.
After conducting an analysis of the most characteristic elements of comics, we identified almost instantly the importance of expression through form and color. These expressions are materialized through speech bubbles, which are responsible for communication and make emotions visible.
Similar to this type of art, the stand narrates a story that unfolds through emotions represented by comic speech bubbles.
The proposal is a stand organized axially around a large table where the activity is centered. This table represents the iconic “boom” speech bubble with space for exactly 15 participants. A large cloud is observed surrounding these activities, providing visual cleanliness to the space and creating a visual barrier that compels us to imagine and dream. ...查看全文 -
Oasis
Purchased in 2017, the existing spaces suffered from limited daylight and ventilation, decorated with faux marble tiling and a combination of dark hardwood and peeling lino flooring. Owing to an L-shaped layout typical of Victorian terraced houses, the living spaces felt disconnected from the exterior courtyard, which featured a mature overgrown jungle of fig and bay trees.
The priority was to create a flexible floor plan which increased cross ventilation and maximised access to natural light; a space to cook, work, relax and withdraw. For Theo, a keen host, the kitchen has always been the social heart of a good home; a space where friends and family gather to cook and eat together.
Unknown Works has added a side infill and slight rear extension, stepping just 1 metre into the rear courtyard garden. The reclaimed space has defined a whole new home, offering a versatile floorplan accommodating a custom stainless steel kitchen, modular furniture designed by Unknown Works, and an internal ...查看全文 -
The Grand House
The family house is based on the traditional three-room house structure with a contemporary approach that suitables for multi-generational families and tropical climates.
The development of large cities attracts many people to work and live there, but their spirit always remains connected to their homeland. This process has given rise to houses built by those who have returned to their hometowns after years of hard work.
We named this project Grand House, a shared home for the extended family where siblings return to be with their aging parents and connect with their roots. The spatial organization aims to harmonize openness and modernity with privacy and tradition, catering to the individual users while integrating into the overall context of the new rural area. Here, the descendants remain close and warm with their ancestors, yet can embrace a more open, outward-looking lifestyle that adapts positively to the present era.
The spatial arrangement maintains the essential activities of t ...查看全文 -
Long Thanh Villa
Designed and built after the Covid pandemic, Long Thanh Villa serves as a peaceful haven for a retired couple. It was built with the intention of reconnecting with family and siblings, living close to nature, and enjoying the simple pleasures of old age.
Taking advantage of the existing greenery, the design aims to allow all spaces in the house to fully experience the surrounding nature. Therefore, the structure is simple, consisting of two rectangular blocks stacked and slided on top of each other, with a void created by cutting the blocks to form small gardens interspersed within the overall large garden.
The block structure creates buffer zones: corridors, wide porches, canopies, and auxiliary blocks (elevator, garage, auxiliary kitchen). These important spaces allow the main cores (kitchen, living room, and bedrooms) inside to have a wide view of the garden through large floor-to-ceiling glass windows. However, it also reduces the impact of sunlight and high temperatures on the west- ...查看全文 -

The owner is an artist who desired a both tranquil and inspiring environment in a 700 sqft. small apartment in Taipei, Taiwan. fws_work embraces the concept of “a step at a moment creates a scene”, where every step, every moment, every scene is infused with poetic essence.
By maximizing the high-ceiling open area with ample windows, the interior is flooded with abundant daylight, creating a connection with the surrounding environment and inviting a sense of tranquility indoors. Various openings were strategically placed in the walls opening up the narrow staircase and small bedroom. These openings also captured the ever-changing interplay of light and shadow throughout the seasons, merging the outdoor foliage with the indoor scenery. By doing so, fws_work crafted picturesque vignettes in every corner, transforming each space into an uni ...查看全文 -
Kadans Co-housing | 2023 | B-architecten
The co-housing project along the Albert Canal and park of Wijnegem, a stone's throw from the center of Antwerp. The Molenhoeve is located in the Stokerijstraat in Wijnegem, right next to the Albert Canal.
On the left side of the plot, there's the protected Wijnegempark with the Jan Vlemincktoren. On the right side, we find the Kanaalsite of Axel Vervoordt. The Molenhoeve is located in the middle of the 'white' district of the Kasteellei and used to house the Royal Antwerp Rowing Club.
The stylistic features of the farmhouse refer to the architectural elements within the park and form the basis for the historical value of the site. Because of this historical value, it was decided to fully reallocate the existing building.
This co-housing project is the ideal reallocation for the site, with eight residential units in the farmhouse coupled with a new construction project with six dwellings, a communal underground car park, and a communal pavilion in the garden. In addition to the buildings ...查看全文
