Our House is a family house by Croatian architect firm,
DAR612. The business is run by the Donatovic – Poljicak family with the aim to create dwellings and working places which are perfectly fit the clients’ needs. Our House is designed with three residential units and an office on a sloped site in the Croat capital, Zagreb. The interior of the house recalls memories of the first half of the 20th century architecture with balconies and terraces and sliding doors that made the whole living area flexible. With the sliding doors open, the residents can create a huge open space, while closing them they divide the floor into intimate spaces.
The minimalist interior matches the house’s strict forms, flat roof and concrete – wooden surfaces. The plain white and gray interior doesn’t look boring with the sight of the surrounding through the glazers which blend the interior and with the exterior landscape. We can find smooth, polished finishes throughout the entire living area, paired with small, personal objects used by the residents.
