Metroplis is a luxury residence development situates in the new city center of Shenzhen. The design of the sales office for Metroplis aims to create an atmosphere for visitors to appreciate the beauty of the city life and to bring out the joy and excitements that the city offers.
At the beginning of the journey, visitors will walk through an open lobby space which is based on garden design concept so as to arouse visitor’s natural senses. Heading to the exhibition area visitor must pass through a tunnel space that connects to a theater. After the refreshing show in the theater the visitor will then arrive at the grand hall.
This open hall contains a café an exhibition space, and two lounge areas. The mood of the café is set to be a metropolitan scene which is dominated by the ceiling design. The ceiling feature is composed by a series of ‘‘city belts’’ that overlaps and interlocks together. These ‘city’ belts make up of strips of laminated glasses ‘’which are reminiscent of urban building topography’’. The structure of the exhibition’s area is in their open space is another simple presentation of the urban space; a huge city cube is enveloped above the exhibition area, which symbolized the picturesque view of the city life.
