A 1100 sq.ft. apartment located in a remote area of Hong Kong, the architect owner requested for a monotone cool styled home with architectural and industrial touch to reflect his profession and his fond of structure.
Starting from the entrance, a 6 metres long i-beam hanging on wall work as a painting and CD rack with a hidden light trough below. The TV cabinet and the dining table are custom made in black metal with wheels below to enhance the flexibility while party comes.
We were strongly attracted by the existing layout which the corridor is 45 degree tilted from the living room in a strong and dynamic perspective view leading from the main entrance. We decided to make this corridor as the main design theme, to form a powerful ceiling feature connecting from the main entrance all the way to the corridor end with a bright yellow hidden door as a focal point, all other room entrances are hidden on both sides of walls with the cement wall panels, as if walking into a dark tunnel.
