It’s not as though we weren’t already major fans of HAOS‘ exceptional design pieces, their recently launched 3rd collection stopped us in our tracks with stunning campaign imagery shot inside the house designed by one of Le Corbusier’s students. A perfect union of modernism and contemporary design.
With a 6-to-8-week production lead-time (plus an additional allowance for international freight), this limited-edition collection of 30 pieces comprises armchair made from solid oak and canvas, linen or velvet upholstery; solid oak and MDF coffee table (a personal favourite); sand-cast bronze floor lamp; and wall lights in solid oak and nickel-plated base and Japanese woven paper. These pieces were originally unveiled earlier this year at the 2020 Collectible Fair.

HAOS is a Paris-based design studio founded by Sophie Gelinet and Cedric Gepner in 2017. The pair mainly use wood, bronze and ceramics, articulating their dual interest in contemporary design and the know-how of traditional craftsmanship.
The studio develops an understated signature style that owes its singularity to the raw, radical expression of sculptural shapes and the mastery of sophisticated and refined lines. Their work clearly fits within the tradition of French Decorative Arts but owes its specificity to this balance achieved between rawness and sophistication, as well as the pursuit of a timeless, almost ascetic form of beauty.
Each piece is manufactured in France by master craftsmen trained by decades of experience working with the same material. They are then collected and assembled in the studio’s Parisian workshop.
