KOKUYO International recently accomplished the design of the Agoda offices, the travel booking platform, located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. KOKUYO International (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd recently designed Agoda Malaysia’s new 4,000 square meter office space located at Southpoint Tower in Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The interior design revolves around innovative design concepts with multi-space structures to integrate work and play. KOKUYO International (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has also adopted biophilic design for Agoda’s office, incorporating natural materials, bringing outdoor elements indoors and using natural light and vegetation. Upon arriving at Agoda’s main reception floor, guests and employees are greeted with a contrast of design elements. Positioned behind the luminous curved reception counter made with a combination of stone and natural wood finish, is a comfortable waiting area with a huge customized feature tree and a gazebo for small meetings. This part of the reception area also doubles up as an optional large townhall venue for employees. The office reflects an Activity Based Working (ABW) style offering an agile work environment and settings that support different activities and purposes. Huddle spaces were created at the end of work clusters with pull out stools for informal discussions. To encourage collaboration and open communication among employees, there are also various types of breakout corners and pantries designed ala-café type spread across the office space to facilitate that. All pantries are uniquely designed and highlight Agoda’s five main colors to incorporate branding. Above all else, employees’ physical and mental wellbeing are Agoda’s top priorities. Thus, the meeting rooms are cozy and homely instead of being too formal. Their one-on-one rooms and phone booths come with bespoke acoustic panels for top-notch privacy. Blending local culture in an international office environment , a local street artist was invited to create a travel themed wall mural, showcasing the creativity and beauty of Malaysian culture. Other than that, recreational spaces like gaming corners, massage chair areas, punch bags and yoga mats are provided should employees require a short chill-out time from work. Customized bunk beds furnished with comfy pillows and warm blankets are also provided for short naps for those working the graveyard shift. All in all, Agoda’s new office has been designed for employees to feel at home by incorporating elements of work and play, aspiring to provide the best working environments for their employees by giving them the most comfortable and practical office to work in.
