This year has seen a great reinterpretation of minimalism, from strong geometric forms to statement-making neutral hues. Along those lines, we've seen a great foray into chunky stone furniture that makes us think of both the cartoon city of Bedrock and incredibly chic vacations in Greece. Let's call it the high-design Stone Age trend with all the monolithic tables and white plastered walls. Perhaps it's all our yearnings to get back to nature (hello, plant obsessives) or our need for calm interiors; either way, these home accents are incredibly compelling. See some of our favorite spaces and pieces that show just how much the stone look—rocks.
These sculptural, modern tables from Tigmi Trading are handcrafted in Byron Bay, Australia, using a moisture-resistant timber substrate with a matte and textural microcement finish.

Equally rocklike, the base of the Otti coffee table (by Metopë Studio) is made from Australian siltstone, which has a unique composition that is rich in clay with minor traces of iron, giving it that great texture and coloring with traces of red, orange, purple, and pink.

Another Stone Age beauty coming from Australia is by Future Collective. The team, which is all about sculptural statement furniture that explores organic forms and textures, is a joint effort between Pip Newell, James Bligh, and Chelsea Wilson, in collaboration with Curated Spaces. We love this pillar console.

The interior of the new Hôtel Le Sud was designed by Stéphanie Lizée, and amid the incredible sandstone, wicker, stripes, and terra-cotta, the recessed shelves in the plastered walls are a definite highlight.
