Based between Milan and London, the young London-born Artist and Designer Grace Prince has released her debut five-piece collection of limited edition collectible design pieces.
“The 2020 collection works to express much and suggest more in the fewest possible compositional attempts,” explains
Grace. The body of work examines a ‘thrown-together’ aesthetic that’s first explored in collages, later taking a three-dimensional form by a process of individual and conscious placement.
This method of working produces a particular tension. Pieces appear seemingly suspended, perceived as delicate and unfinished, with a sense of unsettled balance. When experienced up close, they are strong and sturdy, made with quality finishings and materials.
The collection is made up of five pieces – floor lamp, armchair, coffee table, side table and vase – which relate with each other in a very fluid way. Four of the five pieces have a hand-sculpted element, making each individual work slightly unique from the other, as well as being limited edition.
