Abel Design Group realized the design of the Newfield Exploration executive floor offices, an independent oil and gas company, located in The Woodlands, Texas.
Abel Design Group was selected to design the executive floor for Newfield Exploration on Level 9 of 4 Waterway Avenue. The Newfield Exploration Company executive floor includes offices, meeting areas, break areas, and more, but what makes this project unique is the custom-created art and even carpet. This floor is one of the many projects completed for Newfield – including a conference center, fitness center, office area, and more.
To create one of the featured pieces, the design team was there to select the piece of material taken out of the ground, cut, polished, and created to be on display. Newfield exploration wanted stairs to connect multiple levels and provide a means of wellness for their employees. The wall behind the staircase was inspired by Newfield Exploration topography maps for a custom design. A graphic wall of the company’s core values is on display in an intriguing manner near the lounge space.
The design team had to synthesize the client feedback and develop solutions for each executive, as well as create the design for one cohesive floor. This project was selected as the Paper City Houston Design Award 2019 Runner Up.
