The objective of the project was the complete refurbishment of the interiors of a traditional house in Malvarrosa’s neighborhood, the main city beach in Valencia.
The house had several pre-existing architectural characteristics that required the preservation in the new design, such as the ornamental elements of walls and ceiling on the main living room which frames, through three open accesses, the heart of the house, generated by an independent yellow box that contains the two bathrooms, which is introduced by an antracite central island from the open kitchen space.
The rest of the house develops through the yellow box, ending on the back side of the ground floor where three bedrooms and a rear patio are placed.
The dividing walls of both sides permitted to install indirect perimetral lighting lines, which enforces the look of the former wooden slab and the new one, made of corrugated metal sheets.
For the new use of the beach house, the floor throughout the whole house was done with a continuous polished concrete lining, which gives an industrial look to the property .
