Type: coffee shop Area: 132 sq. m Location: Kremenchuk, Ukraine Year: 2020 Welcome to the pharmacy with a new purpose.Apteka_92 is a cafe with history, the eighth eat-drink-talk place of the Kofan family in Kremenchuk, and our fourth collaboration with these clients. Instead of medicine, here are the most delicious coffee and desserts in town. The white, almost sterile walls merged with the clay plaster and created a new world on the old ground.— Ласкаво просимо в аптеку нового призначення. Apteka_92 — це кав'ярня з історією, восьмий заклад родини Kofan в Кременчуці та наша четверта співпраця з замовниками. Замість ліків тут — найсмачніша кава в місті, десерти та затишний простір. Білі, майже стерильні стіни поєдналися з глиняною мазанкою та створили новий світ на місці старого.
History lives within walls"Back in the day, there was a real pharmacy that had been functioning for 20 years here. We decided to save the common perception of this place by keeping the name and the old pharmacy theme. That is how the plates with anatomic print, ceramic pills, and X-rays in the bathroom have appeared. However, the facade does not give out a new purpose of this place. From the outside, it looks like an updated pharmacy,” says the architect Viktor Zakharchenko. — «Раніше тут була справжня аптека, яка працювала років 20. Ми вирішили не ламати звичне сприйняття місця для тих, хто живе поруч, та залишили назву й стару аптечну тематику. Так на стінах з’явилися тарілки з анатомічними малюнками, керамічні пігулки та рентген у вбиральні. Цікаво, що фасад не видає новий заклад: зовні це просто оновлена аптека», — розповідає архітектор проєкту Віктор Захарченко.
The decorative elements of the interior are reminiscent of what was "before" our cafe. Under the ceiling, there are Vitamin M lamps designed by Serhii Makhno, and the walls are decorated with plates with human skeleton drawings that also serve as additional lighting. But no worries, these skeletons will not frighten the guests — they are to tell stories. — Декоративні елементи інтер’єру нагадують про те, що було «до» нашої кав’ярні. Попід стелею — авторські світильники Сергія Махно Vitamin M, а стіни закладу прикрашають тарілки з малюнками скелету людини, які слугують додатковим освітленням. Але не хвилюйтесь, ці скелети гостей лякати не будуть — лише розповідатимуть свої історії.
Interior detailsPharmacy + cafe. Pharmaceutical atmosphere + Ukrainian traditional wall decoration technique. Together, these seemingly different themes, materials, and colors have created a place of a new type. — Аптека + кав’ярня. Фармацевтичний колорит + українська традиційна техніка оздоблення стін. Разом ці, на перший погляд, різні тематики, матеріали та кольори створили заклад нового типу.
The interior of the cafe is like a magic pill. Two colours are prevailing here: pure white that resonates with the history of the place, and light clay brown that is complemented by a metal bar. The boundaries of the ceiling extend to the floor, lamp, sofa, and chairs, forming a perfect rectangle that appears to be a glass structure on the ceiling and a storefront on the bar. The past and the future are united in the "here and now" under the name Apteka_92.— Інтер’єр кав’ярні — як заспокійливе. Тут домінують два кольори: чистий білий, який резонує з історією місця, та світло-коричневий колір глини, який доповнюється металевою барною стійкою. Межі обробки стелі переходять на підлогу, світильник, диван та стільці, утворюючи ідеальний прямокутник, який в інтер’єрі з'являється у вигляді скляної конструкції на стелі та вітрини-холодильника на барі. Минуле та майбутнє об’єдналися в «тут і зараз» під назвою Apteka_92.
The design project of the cafe was accepted and implemented without any changes. Now there is a queue of those eager to eat-drink-talk even on weekdays. The number of Instagram photos speaks for itself: the guests are in love with this place. — Дизайн-проєкт кав’ярні був прийнятий та реалізований без жодних змін. Тепер сюди вишиковується черга навіть у будні. Кількість світлин в інстаграмі говорить сама за себе: гості аптеку полюбили.
