Trailblazing architecture and design firm Blitz recently completed a 14,000 SF office for industry leading business insurance brokerage firm, Poms & Associates in Calabasas, CA. With a design that seeks to leave the pandemic-era siloed work style behind to engineer easy and intuitive collaboration and social connections all while improving productivity, the new office is unlike any other insurance brokerage.

The objective given was to promote cross-pollination among multi-generational groups, enhance office camaraderie and socialization, all while elevating the organization’s 30-year legacy brand, and attracting new talent in an industry that is not known for outstanding workplace design or employee amenities.

Blitz’s design centered on soft, earthy tones and carries soft curves throughout the space which metaphorically underline the feeling of fluid transitions in communication that are needed in the workplace. The overall atmosphere is open and light, yet consideration is given to privacy where needed. The design ensures that individuals always have a clear sense of their location within the space, promoting a sense of orientation and coherence. Regardless of one’s location within the overall space, there is always a view to the outside, fostering connection and creativity.

Amenities like a central café opening to a private outdoor patio, numerous coffee stations and a multifunctional lounge that offers a library atmosphere during the day and becomes a professional grade wine tasting room at night, all while incorporating best in class presentation technology for assemblies, client meetings or video game competition and pub quiz gatherings for the team. Decorative touches are dominated by lush landscaping and carefully curated artwork throughout the space as well as a 500 gallon Saltwater Aquarium that greets the team and visitors at the reception.
