True to the essence of a traditional office, 33 Corner Office, helmed by a father-son duo, transforms a small workspace into a multi-functional haven — blending work and leisure seamlessly. The vision was to create an office that felt like a cosy extension of home — inviting, warm, and deeply functional. Perched on the 33rd floor, the office takes full advantage of its corner location, offering sweeping views on both sides and basking in natural light throughout the day. This juxtaposition of warm, welcoming interiors against the sleek, corporate exterior of the skyscraper lends a refreshing contrast. Glass partitions continue the flow of the space, ensuring transparency without interrupting the light’s passage through the office.

Warmth radiates through the carefully chosen materials. As you step into the office, earthy tones of terracotta, emerald, and understated neutrals greet you, laid out in terrazzo flooring that immediately feels grounded and natural. Exposed brickwork climbs the walls, infusing the space with texture and warmth, while smooth cement lime plaster finish balances this roughness, providing an understated yet elegant backdrop. The entrance opens into a long passage that leads left to an open pantry area, where a large terrazzo table doubles as both a community space and an informal meeting spot. This interactive zone fosters relaxed coffee conversations, adding a touch of dynamism to the work environment.

At the heart of the office lies the communal workstation, a space where employees naturally gather. Above, a striking lighting installation casts a dramatic glow, serving as both a functional element and a focal point that retains the design’s simplicity and effectiveness.

To the right, private cabins offer quieter, more focused workspaces, leading to the lounge-meeting room at the far end. Here, the space transforms into a more formal setting, perfect for group discussions or client meetings, complete with an intimate seating arrangement and a large TV screen. A hidden bar unit, designed with a clever joint mechanism, reveals itself only when needed, adding functionality without compromising on the clean, minimalist aesthetics of the room. The exposed ceiling is another feature, preserving the office’s height while adding an industrial feel that contrasts with the warm materials below. This ceiling, though challenging to design around, was a triumph for Quirk Studio. They masterfully coordinated conduits, air conditioning, and lighting systems to work around the building’s structural I-beams, resulting in a cohesive design that enhances the verticality and openness of the space.
