Concept
The name DI NULLA translates as ‘no problem!’ - a phrase that carries a light, playful, and slightly cheeky spirit. This became the heart of the concept and is reflected in every detail of the interior.
Atmosphere
DI NULLA is designed as an everyday spot, free from formalities and dress codes. It’s a place to drop in for a solo breakfast, meet friends over lunch, or gather the family for dinner. The occasion doesn’t matter, what matters is that every guest can relax and enjoy the moment.
Interior concept
To capture a sense of hedonism and freedom, we drew inspiration from the image of fashionable, fast-paced Milan, a city where street life flows naturally in its own vibrant rhythm. From this came the idea of ‘controlled chaos’, expressed in the architectural composition: shifted axes, varied textures, irregular geometry - all coming together to create an atmosphere full of energy and movement.
Dining room scenography
The central seating area evokes a lively city street lined with lampposts and trees. Here, symmetry is replaced by spontaneity, as if neighbours had brought out their own furniture to sit together in the shade. This effect is enhanced by the mix of facade elements along the wall: in one place, the kitchen mezzanine juts out; in another, the bar canopy or an arch takes shape. Though diverse in form and material, these elements align into a single streetscape - one that feels distinctly Milanese: elegant, yet with a dash of mischief.
Materials and details
The furniture is deliberately eclectic, as if collected piece by piece from different private homes, reinforcing the feel of a lived-in street scene. The floor is laid with a custom mosaic that calls for a picnic: light, informal, and warm.
Private nooks
In contrast to the main hall’s dynamic energy, two more private areas are set slightly lower than the central space.
The open kitchen and bar are noticeably recessed, allowing guests to watch the action while visually separating these areas from the rest of the space. This creates an openness with a barrier - everything in view, but without intrusion.
The small dining room offers a handful of tables for those who prefer a quieter, more secluded atmosphere.
DI NULLA is a celebration of freedom, pleasure, and a love of life.
Its interior reflects the philosophy of being vibrant, light, and slightly spontaneous, free from formality and convention. Everything here is designed to help guests feel at ease and savour the moment itself.
