To achieve this, Spectrum worked closely with Studio JVW to understand the architecture, the land and the spirit embedded in the site. The goal was not merely to depict the form and structure of the house, but to express its stillness, ritual and rootedness. The team focused on the transitions between shelter and exposure, light and shadow, echoing van Wyk’s reflections on the design’s dualities.
As part of the collaboration, the studio explored new visual and animation techniques, incorporating AI-driven tools, custom scene setups in 3ds Max and Cinema 4D, and advanced material development in Corona Renderer. Both still renderings and a short, animated reel were produced, using light and motion to evoke the home’s unfolding gradual spatial reveal and reinforcing its central idea of being grounded in place.
