At the heart of the brief was a desire for material cohesion and spatial flow, achieved through a contemporary language that still feels grounded and lived-in. On the ground floor, the living room sets this tone with a composed mix of surfaces: a sleek marble countertop meets the yielding comfort of an upholstered sofa set against it, creating contrast without visual noise. Nearby, timber cabinetry is paired with glass bricks, bringing warmth and translucency in equal measure, while maintaining a feeling of openness through the space.
The dining area is anchored by a bold striped timber table that draws the eye and holds the room together. Its graphic grain adds definition to the palette, balancing the softer, earth-toned backdrop with a stronger focal point.
Practicality is integrated with the same care. Between the entrance and stair, a sliding door conceals a compact kitchen with a streamlined plan. Angular counters and built-in appliances make efficient use of the footprint, while a grey granite benchtop and backsplash deepen the tonal range and sit neatly against timber joinery and muted, clay-like walls.
