Set within a long rectilinear plot, the house is defined by a singular mono-pitched roof that stretches across the full length of the site, establishing both its architectural identity and spatial organisation. The roof begins low and understated at the front, allowing the house to sit quietly within its streetscape, before gradually rising towards the rear where the master suite and study occupy the upper level. This sectional move allows the house to reveal itself progressively, shifting from an almost modest street presence to a more expansive spatial experience within.

Entry is deliberately choreographed along the party wall, where a gently sloping ramp forms the main circulation spine of the house. This movement sequence accentuates the dramatic timber-lined ceiling, drawing the eye along the full depth of the home toward the roof’s apex. Along this journey, a series of landscaped courtyards are carefully inserted to bring diffused daylight, natural ventilation, and moments of greenery into the interior. These courtyards also subtly organise the otherwise open plan, creating pockets of intimacy while maintaining visual continuity across the length of the house.

Through the interplay of section, light and landscape, the house explores how a simple roof gesture can simultaneously mediate scale, guide movement, and shape a sequence of calm, tropical living environments.
