EME fusion boutique hotel counts on the singularity of being the closest five star hotel to the Cathedral of Seville -the largest Gothic temple in the world - and the Giralda bringing a new vision and unknown details of the north face of this monumental construction.
The rooms allow the visitor to feel a unique and priviledged view of the old historical. Quarter of the city and key events like the Semana Santa - Holy Week -. A destination in itself EME fusion hotel sinks its roots into the historical quarter of the city on the Guadalquivir. So much so that the foundations rest upon vestiges of high arqueological value, the ruins of an old Roman bath dated from the 1st and 2nd century. They have been recuperated and strategically implemented in the architecture, for the contemplation and enjoyment of the visitor.
The Calle Alemanes next to the Cathedral of Seville welcomes EME fusion hotel at the heart of the bubbling cultural and leisure scene.
As a result of the restoration of fourteen typical sevillian listed houses from the XVI century, the urban resort has 60 rooms and an excellent gastronomic and leisure complex with 7 restaurants, cocktail bars, wellness spa, outdoor swimming pool and outstanding panoramic terraces.

Interior design
The hotel, designed by Sandra Tarruella and Isabel López, has been conceived to offer to the client an accommodation with a proper character where it is situated, in full historical centre of Seville.
Materials like the stone, the natural wood or the iron are used in combination with typical materials and crafts from Seville. It contrasts with modern elements and materials as the lacquer volumes, the black glass and the backlitted spaces, creating an interesting balance between both.

In the central patio, a water sheet resembles the own fountains of Andalusian patios. The natural light has been used in a special way in this project. A big lattice of Moorish inspiration, placed in the whole facade of the patio, diffuses the entry of exterior light, creating a game of shades in the interior. Likewise, this element is applied in different ways in the rest of the hotel and it becomes in a representative element of the project.
Several old buildings have been joined and refurbished to create this hotel. As a result, we have an interesting diversity of volumes and levels between the spaces, as well as a play of full and empty volumes which enrich the whole complex. The interior design project gets adapted to this mixture of structures obtaining unique spaces and offering to the client an environment with a style and character strongly related whit its location.
The central patio is a reinterpretation of the typical Andalusian patio, playing with the typical elements such water, orange trees and lattices. A water surface reminds to the andalusian fountains usually located in the patios. A Moorish inspired lattice, which covers the patio walls, filters the entrance of light, creating interesting shades in the inside of the rooms and covering the heterogenic previous surfaces.

The design of this new façade is stated from the reinterpretation of a Moorish lattice, but applied in a large scale to remark the relation between outside and inside, to reinforce the shadow play and to maintain the intimacy of the guest rooms.
For the design of the lattice different possibilities of materials were considered and finally a material was chosen that for its production characteristics seemed to us the most suitable, even when it had never been used to made lattices before.
This material is a composite obtained from almond shells that, once triturated and mixed with synthetic resins and following a process of polymerization at a certainpressure and a certain temperature in a mould, is transformed into rigid objects that just need finishing.
The almond shell contains lignin and cellulose, which are basic components of wood. This makes the objects manufactured have a behaviour and properties half- way between wood and plastic materials.
In this way vegetable waste is turned into a series of biodegradable, recyclable objects that, thanks to their manufacture with moulding techniques, can acquire shape and mimic texture of the mould, and it can function as a wood substitute. The material is practically immune to the effects of sun and is completely waterproof, moreover it has a low density.
