As one of the most important contemporary architectural masters, Álvaro Siza is more like an artist, taking painting and sculpture as his creative creed. Siza has cooperated with the Portuguese century-old workshop SPSS for nearly fifty years. SPSS is deeply involved in the development and implementation of furniture for many of Siza's architectural projects, and the two parties have close ties.
Founded in 1913 as a small woodworking workshop, SPSS has since grown into a renowned and respected company. Today, SPSS sets new standards in modern furniture manufacturing, achieving a perfect symbiosis between innovative wood production techniques and traditional craftsmanship. With sustainability as one of its fundamental principles, SPSS constantly seeks a natural balance between materials, technology, and design.

阿尔瓦罗·西扎作为当代最重要的建筑大师之一，更像一位艺术家，把绘画和雕塑艺术作为自己创作的信条，西扎与葡萄牙百年工坊SPSS合作近五十年，SPSS深度参与西扎众多建筑项目的家具开发与落地，双方联系紧密。

The furniture pieces on display at Limu Home Furnishings were designed by Siza over the years for his own architectural projects. Siza attached great importance to the integrity of the space, and furniture is an indispensable part of his architectural space. The exhibition uses a "dialogue" method to allow us to get close to Siza's furniture works and feel the charm of Siza's spatial design - continuity, integrity, art, poetry and tranquility.
Álvaro Siza said in an interview: "When we conceive a design, imagine a house, we have to study the definition of space? How to distribute the required furniture? So these two tasks complement each other, so it is normal for architects to also participate in furniture design, just as the spatial layout constrains the design of interior objects, and these objects also affect the planning of the space, so it is always a complementary work."

The curator said, "From previous projects, we can see that when Siza was designing architecture and furniture, his goal was to achieve a holistic improvement in space and product. Therefore, integrity can be felt not only in the space, but also in the product. Siza's collaboration with SPSS Studio has continued for four or five decades. On the one hand, design helps the manufacturing industry break through bottlenecks, and on the other hand, manufacturing provides continuous motivation and sustainable entities for design, and the two sides are closely connected. Limn was founded thirteen years ago and has been engaged in holistic design. We are still in the foundation-laying stage. Today's exchange has given me greater confidence to achieve breakthroughs through the close integration of design and manufacturing."

策展人说：“从以往的项目里可以感受到当西扎在做建筑和家具设计时，目标是为了使空间和产品达成整体性的提升，因此不止对于空间，在产品上也能体会到完整性。西扎与SPSS工作室的合作持续至今已有四、五十年，一方面由设计帮助制造业突破瓶颈，另一方面制造业为设计提供持续的动力及可承载的实体，双方联系紧密。历目创立十三年，从事整体设计，目前还在打基础的阶段，而今天的交流让我更有信心，凭借设计与制造紧密结合完成突破。”
