BREATHE FREELY
- Return to the Essence of Life -
ATELIER DOMUS
Some homes are built with layers of decoration; others find their beauty in the art of restraint. Faced with a well-structured four-bedroom, two-living-room layout, we chose to work with the homeowners to simplify and strip away the excess, allowing the space to return to the essence of living.
As the trend of "minimalism" gradually fades, our homeowners remain committed to embracing minimalism as a way of life: free from excessive storage and decoration, untethered by possessions and material desires, allowing their home to become a space that breathes freely. Guided by this philosophy, we began with the building's spatial logic and the nuances of daily living, responding to the homeowners' needs through three key design interventions.

1. First, dynamic transitions. Through the opening and closing of circulation paths and subtle interface cues, the space achieves fluidity while preserving a sense of security, allowing life and emotions to shift naturally between openness and privacy.
2. Second, the poetry of curves. Two clean-lined curved walls seamlessly integrate the living room, dining area, kitchen, and balcony into one cohesive space. This pure form infuses the space with a gentle sense of order, replacing deliberate ornamentation with the essence of the space itself, allowing life to become the focal point of the environment.
3. Third, invisible storage. Functionality is seamlessly integrated, allowing cabinets to quietly "disappear," resulting in a clean, transparent interface that creates more breathing room for light and daily activities.

This is a design practice about trade-offs.
Minimalism is not our goal, but a means to an end.
Through precise craftsmanship, we have created spatial arrangements where comfort and ease arise naturally, ensuring that after delivery, this order quietly recedes into the background of the homeowner's daily life.
